this looks awesome! It says that it was done on a black pastel card.. but the background doesn't really look black... you should increase the contrast of it and it will look even better!
It's termed black by the manufacturer, but is actually a very dark browny grey with a finish texture like sandpaper. It's great to work with, but extremely unforgiving as even the slightest smudge or mark cannot be erased, and it smudges very easily. It's also expensive, like sandpaper! Anyway, you get the idea. The lighting under which I took the photo gives it a slight sheen. I didn't wish to take anything away from the artwork by increasing contrast, so I left it.
