Artist's Comments

Original oil painting produced on stretched 91cm x 61cm canvas using a knife, mixing only on the canvas using a limited colour palette.

There's many more figurative, dance and portrait fine art original oil paintings, pastels and gicleé prints on my website: R Young Art

Prints are now only available via my website, though I do sign them. I have disabled all prints of my artwork on DA in protest as they removed my featured artwork, didn't adhere to their own policies and ignored my communications so I don't see why I should contribute financially with print commissions...

wow its beautiful, i love the detail that you put into it. It looks as if she could step out of the painting and start dancing in my den :thumb81062655:

I love it!
Very beautiful--I wish I had her body...
Again, a beautiful piece. Someday I want to have art like this in my home. I just need the wall space for it ;) Maybe when a couple of the kids move out and I take over their rooms :giggle:

This is a wonderful piece to show that place where dancers go. I love to watch my daughter go there. Everything seems to fade away for her and it is just about the moment she is in. The music, the movements, the lines... all else is gone.

The only way creativity is wasted is if it is not used. There are no rights or wrongs. There are no imperfections, no limits, no rules. One must simply use the talents one has to the utmost to be a success.
It's so beautiful the way you capture the emotion that emanates from the body.:rose:

thanks to wupeo for my avie!
So beautiful and graceful! I love the river of light that runs from her fingertips to her neck, and then from her shoulder all the way down to her foot on the left! Great composition and execution on this work!

Thx Ghada. No probs...

This one took around 30 hours over a 2 week period. It's taken a long time to get down to this thoughed.

I take breaks and rarely spend over 5 hours painting in a single session as it's so intense and tiring on my eyes.

for this one a photographer friend and the dancer very kindly supported me and I adjust to suit my personal preferences
